"I used to worry about not being masculine enough. I'd swallow extravagantly and feel my neck. Checking hopefully for an Adam's apple that never arrived."

This month Window Online presents a selection of material from Stimulus--Response, the sprawling web-based diary of Wellington artist, writer, and game theorist Pippin Barr. From comic strips to delicate pencil drawings, interactive video works and maps, Barr chronicles the bizarre, banal, and boring in the everyday. With titles ranging from "The exact locations I licked the walls at the exhibition Wolfgang Tillmans on 5 January 2007 at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, CA", to "The Guy Downstairs", Stimulus looks both inward and outward with Barr extracting types of shoes at a wedding, snippets of conversation at galleries, and head shots from book jackets to be reinterpreted as bite-size chunks of a new narrative.
