Errantries is a solo exhibition by Ralph Paine at Window Onsite and the artist’s ninth scroll work to date. A practice that has spanned several decades, his works on paper often reveal an interest in the combination of text and image, an approach that stems from original training as a graphic designer. Drawing upon histories mythological, literary and philosophical in nature, Paine has combined his studio practice with lectures, writing and critical collaborations in recent years, in speculative modes of intellectual and existential enquiry which always carry a personal poetic. Subsequently, Window is pleased to present Errantries, a large double-scroll containing 40 ruminations distilled over the artist’s previous summer.
